S.S. Admiral (grey) - Bygone Brand
The stunning SS Admiral was a futuristic metallic steamship that operated on the Mississippi from the Port of St. Louis. First launched in 1940, the million-dollar ship with five decks and room for 4,400 passengers soon became a familiar sight on the river — cruising the waterways while St. Louis families played games, danced in the ballroom and relaxed as they watched the scenery slip by. In the 1980s, due to high costs, the SS Admiral was permanently docked and became a casino. Sadly, in 2011, this grande dame of the St. Louis shoreline was sold for scrap.
